New England Newspaper & Press Association Summer Workshop

The 2019 workshop will be from June 22 to June 29. Students selected for the program will be housed at Regis College in Weston, Mass. and will work from a newsroom at Simmons College in Boston .
Students will work with professional reporters, photographers and designers from New England news organizations.
They will learn to report, write and edit for a newspaper, and produce multimedia projects for a website. They will be sent out on assignments in the Boston area and will be exposed to working on a deadline to create their own newspaper.
Transcript and teacher letter of recommendation required.

 

Babson College, Summer Study for High School Students   July 6 – August 3

Babson is offering an immersive 4-week residential summer program to live like a college student and learn like an entrepreneur.  The program provides rising Juniors and Seniors, at least 16 years of age at the start of the program, the opportunity to explore ways in which to positively impact the world using an entrepreneurial mindset.

Summer Study students will take a 4-credit college course, Introduction to the Entrepreneurial Experience.  The class will combine classroom learning with workshops, guest lectures and visits to local organizations.

Requirements:  application form with essay, recommendation from a school administrator, transcript, application fee of $50

Tuition $8,500 includes tuition for 4 college credits, activities and BCBS health insurance plan.  Accommodations include bed, linens, dresser and desk asl well as internet access and air conditioning.  Each student will receive a network-connected laptop for use during the program.
