Hello North Street Families,
How is it that School is starting this week? It’s crazy how fast summer goes. But as summer winds down and the school year begins there is always a lot to remember. I want to start by saying I hope everyone one has a great first day and everyone comes home with smiles on their bright little faces.
Our Annual Stuff the Bus event was a HUGE success. We had a huge turn out and were able to help a lot of families in need. I wanted to give a HUGE thank you to everyone that helped in every way. Whether it was donating or helping at the event without all of you these events could not happen!!!
If anyone wants to volunteer in the school, wants to be involved in their child’s classroom, wants to volunteer for anything that goes on in the school you need to have a CORI check. So please if you plan on doing anything with the school this year please have a CORI check done.
Here are some upcoming dates to remember:
August 31st – First day of school
September 2nd – No School (school is closed)
September 5th – No School Labor Day
September 8th 12:30 pm – Library Training at North Street
September 8th 5:30 pm – Library Training at the Dewing
September 8th 6:30 pm – First PAC meeting of the year. This will be at the Dewing Library. This will be a combined meeting with the Dewing school. I hope to see some old and new faces there.

North Street Library
Our school library is run solely by volunteers and we need your help. Notices will go home to sign up for class times- one hour per week, every other week for the school year. We are using a new system this year and will draw names by lottery if there are too many signed up for one class. If you cannot make your child’s class time we hope you will consider helping in another class or being a substitute. A CORI is required so please get to the school office ASAP if you are planning to volunteer. Training will be offered on Thursday, September 8 and Friday, September 9 from 12:30-2p and you must be trained to work in the library. This is an important part of learning and we are looking for dedicated parents who want to make this an enriching experience for the kids by helping them find books, navigate the library, and improve their research skills. For any questions please contact Paige Impink at email@example.com .
Always remember to clip those box tops and save them for our upcoming year!!! There are always great raffles every month, and sometimes a surprise competition too!!!

The North Street PAC continues to collect pull tabs or “pop tops” from beverages to donate to the Shriners Hospitals for Children during the entire school year! Send to school in a plastic bag and have your child put them in the mailbox labeled Pull Tabs for Shriners Hospital outside the office (near the Box Tops labels). We are going to have a contest at the end of the school year!!!
I am looking for some volunteers for a number of different things. There are things that can be done from home or in school. Whichever you prefer. I would love to see some new faces, even if it’s just an hour of your time. Every hour that you volunteer is an hour put towards making a better school for our children and the children to come. So if you would like to volunteer please let me know and we can talk about the different options. There will be a list attached, take a look and let me know!!!
If you know of anyone who does not receive this email and would like to, please forward us their email address, and I will gladly add them to the list. Similarly, if you would like to be removed from this list, please reply with “REMOVE ME” in the subject line to be taken off the list.
