End of Year Calendar

2021

Introduction:  This “End of Year Calendar” is designed to provide important information about the many events and activities that are scheduled to take place in the remaining months of the 2020-2021 school year.  Please retain this information for future reference.

Notes: (1) Please note that the information contained in this document, including the scheduled events, are subject to modification given the guidelines associated with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and as offered by local, state, and federal agencies.  The TMHS administration and staff are committed to providing any and all opportunities for students and their families to experience as many traditions that are typically held in the spring.  Please acknowledge that these guidelines (more restrictive or less restrictive) may necessitate changes to items noted herein.*  Updates will be communicated in an efficient and timely manner; (2) only those students who are currently enrolled at Tewksbury Memorial High School are eligible to attend the events noted herein.

TMHS 86th Commencement Exercises: The Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2021 will be held outdoors at TMHS on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.  Please reserve the dates of Saturday, June 12, 2021 and Sunday, June 13, 2021, should the Commencement Exercises need to be rescheduled as the result of inclement weather.  If so, the time of the Commencement Ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. on one of these dates and as the weather allows.  Specific instructions (such as acquisition of tickets, parking, etc.) for the Commencement Exercises will be made available at a later date and will be reflective of the most up-to-date guidelines issued as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Student Obligations:  All obligations for missing textbooks, library books, athletic uniforms or food service fees and any other fees must be resolved by the end of the school year; however, for seniors, all obligations must be resolved before you will be able to receive your graduation cap and gown.  Make sure your locker is cleaned out by the last day of school.  Any items left in your locker after the last day of school may be discarded by the custodians.

Guidance Department Final Check Out/Student Record: All senior students are required to check out with the Guidance Department and sign and receive their student record before picking up a graduation cap and gown.  Seniors are asked to also confirm their post-graduate plans.

 Graduation Caps and Gowns:  Caps and gowns will be distributed at THMS between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 3rd and Friday, June 4th.

Senior Final Exams:  Seniors who are not participating in the Senior Project must have a 93 average or higher in order to be exempt from a final exam.  Additional information regarding Senior Final Examinations is included further in this document.

Graduation Rehearsal:  A mandatory graduation rehearsal will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021.

Students are not required to be in school except during scheduled exams.

All final exams will be administered in room LGI-1.

Every 5 credit, full-year course will have an assessment or culminating activity.

Students will be allowed to leave school once they have finished their exam.

Students are not allowed to take final exams before the scheduled time unless approved by administration.

Students who miss a final exam due to illness or exempt absence must make-up the exam missed during the make-up exam period.  It is the student’s responsibility to schedule the make up with their classroom teacher.

Additional Note:   All provisions of the code of conduct that governs Tewksbury Memorial High School, and which is outlined in the Student Handbook, are in effect at all times at all events both on and off campus. Violations of the code of conduct may result in disciplinary action including suspension from future events, including the Commencement Ceremony.

Seniors and Senior Parents,

Congratulations, it’s time to pay for your Graduation Package!  If you remember, we took the student’s cap and gown measurements in the fall.  Now that those orders are in production, it is time to make your payment.

Late fees for expedited shipping and handling may apply if not ordered by Friday January 29th, 2021.

Make an appointment for your senior portrait with O’Connor Studios so that they can be sure to include your picture in the yearbook. If you need to book an appointment the fall studio hours are Mon.-Fri. from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and Sat. from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Parking will be available at TMHS for first-come, first-served and the overflow parking will be available at the Ryan School (shuttle will be provided).

Ceremony
The ceremony will be held at TMHS.

Rehearsal
A mandatory graduation rehearsal will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021.

Senior Obligations
Any outstanding obligations must be paid before a cap and gown can be released to a senior student. If the student has an obligation, it will be attached to their cap and gown package. This includes lost books, fees, uniforms, etc.

Please complete the information on the link below.  Remember, the purchase of your cap and gown is your responsibility.  Your cap, gown and tassel unit is $20.00, but you may wish to take advantage of Graduation packages online.

-The Senior Prom is for TMHS Class of 2021 Students ONLY.  No outside guests are permitted to attend given the restrictions associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic.

– Any senior, who did not attend the social host presentation last year, must attend this year in order to purchase tickets for senior week activities, including senior prom.  For 2021, a virtual presentation for this program will be made available on a date to be announced.
