Here are some examples of the vocabulary words your\u00a0child is learning in Open Circle lessons at school.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Body Language:<\/b> A way to communicate feelings using your face, body, or hands.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Bystander:<\/b> A person who sees a situation taking place.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Bullying:<\/b> When one or more people severely or repeatedly harm someone with words or actions.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Calm Breathing: <\/b>Breathing in and out deeply and slowly in order to feel calm and relaxed.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Compliment: <\/b>Saying something good about someone.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Cooperate:<\/b> To work together to get something done.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Double D Behavior:<\/b> Actions that are dangerous (someone might get hurt) or destructive (something\u00a0might get damaged or broken). When children see dangerous or destructive behavior, they should tell a\u00a0responsible adult right away.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Non-Negotiable Rules:<\/b> Rules that cannot be changed.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Nonverbal Signals:<\/b> A way of communicating without words.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Open Circle Meeting:<\/b> a time in school for students to learn and practice specific social and emotional\u00a0skills that will help them form positive relationships and become successful learners.
