In order to assure a safe, smooth dismissal procedure for all, we can\u2019t make any changes or updates to your child\u2019s dismissal plan after 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>__________________________<\/p>\n<p><b>PickUp Patrol Attendance and Dismissal Tracking for grades PK-1 for 2025-2026 School Year\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dear Dewing School Parents and Guardians,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We use a dismissal program called <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pickuppatrol.net\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PickUp Patrol <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0to help us track dismissals for our K-1 students. PickUp Patrol (PUP) helps us closely monitor all dismissals helps us ensure that our students are safely dismissed to their correct after-school destinations<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. It also provides parents\/guardians with a convenient way to make changes to your children\u2019s dismissal plans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We no longer accept dismissal notes sent to the teachers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Use the Pick Up Patrol web app for:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>ATTENDANCE:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Notify the school office when your child will be absent, arriving late or leaving early. You no longer need to call the office phone if you use this system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>DISMISSAL CHANGES:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Submit changes to your child\u2019s regular dismissal plans. For example:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A student normally rides the bus, but is getting picked up today.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A student usually goes to aftercare, but is leaving early for an appointment.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li>*We do NOT accept bus changes to buses other than the one your child is assigned to (for example, playdates).\u00a0 This is for student safety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>How it works:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your child will be assigned a dismissal plan based on dismissal information in ASPEN. This is the plan they regularly follow on normal days. We call this the Default Plan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Whenever you have a change to the Default Plan, you\u2019ll submit a change through the PUP website. When the plan is submitted, the school and your child\u2019s teacher will be notified and PUP will relay the change to them. You will also receive a change notification.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>All plan changes will now\u00a0 be entered in PickUp Patrol. We will no longer accept handwritten notes with dismissal changes or phone calls to the office, unless it is a true emergency.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Cut off time to make any changes to dismissal is 1:00 PM daily and 10 am on early dismissal days.\u00a0 You will not be able to make changes after that time.<\/i><\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Getting started with PUP:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>REGISTER: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will receive a registration email from PickUp Patrol with a link to set up your account.The PUP web app is free to parents and you can use it from your smartphone or computer. PUP is not accessed through the app stores. Instead, for easy access, follow the instructions in your registration email for how to add it to your phone\u2019s home screen.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Review DEFAULT PLANS: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once you register, log into your PickUp Patrol account to confirm your child\u2019s default dismissal plan.<\/span><b> If the information is incorrect, you may change the default plan directly on your child\u2019s page.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thank you for using PUP to make safety a priority and to ensure our dismissal process is efficient for all our students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you have any questions, please first check the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pickuppatrol.net\/faq\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.pickuppatrol.net\/faq<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> page.
